Advanced Level Linux Professional (LPIC-2)

Certificate: LPIC-2 Certification (A prerequisite for LPIC-3 Certificate)

Duration: 8.00 Days / 64 hrs

Course Delivery: Classroom

The LPIC-2 certification is the second in a series of three Linux certifications. It is between the LPIC-1 and LPIC-3. LPIC-2 certified individuals should have the skills and knowledge to be able to adequately plan and administer a small to medium sized network comprising of mixed platform workstations and servers, Internet gateways, firewalls, proxies etc., and have an all-round awareness of automation techniques and peripherals. Candidates wishing to obtain the LPIC-2 certification must first pass the LPIC-1 before they can be awarded their certificate.

Audience:

This course is intended for individuals who are employed as Educator, PC Technician, Systems Administrator, Systems Engineer and IT Manager

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this course and examination, the learner will gain competencies in:

  • Administer a small to medium-sized site
  • Plan, implement, maintain, keep consistent, secure, and troubleshoot a small mixed (MS, Linux) network, including a:
    • LAN server (samba)
    • Internet Gateway (firewall, proxy, mail, news)
    • Internet Server (webserver, FTP server)
  • Supervise assistants
  • Advise management on automation and purchases

Course Organizational Logistics:

  • A maximum of 16 people can attend this course with 1 instructor
  • Classroom with U-shaped seating arrangement
  • 2 break out rooms where available
  • Whiteboard, flipchart, projector

Prerequisites:

You must have an active LPIC-1 certification to receive LPIC-2 certification, but the LPIC-1 and LPIC-2 exams may be taken in any order.

Course Student Material:

Students receive a copy of the classroom presentation material, practice exam, case study, homework and assignments.

About the Examination:

LPIC-2 Certification is achieved after completing the below two courses

  • LPI 201 – Training 4 days /8hr daily + Exam (1.5 hours)
  • LPI 202 – Training 4 days /8hr daily + Exam (1.5 hours)

Junior Level Linux Professional (LPIC-1)

Certificate: LPIC-1 Certification (A prerequisite for LPIC-2 Certificate)

Duration: 8.00 Days / 64 hrs

Course Delivery: Classroom

This program covers LPIC-1 certification, and it serves as a fast-paced and thorough introduction to the Linux operating system. It is intended for aspiring system administrators or anyone else who wants to learn the nuts and bolts of Linux. The program involves extensive hands-on work/Lab, as candidates gain the skills and experience needed to administer a Linux server, and get set to take LPI 101 & LPI 102 Exams.

 

Audience:

This course is intended for individuals who are employed as Educator, PC Technician,Systems Administrator, Systems Engineer and IT Manager

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this course and examination, the learner will gain competencies in:

  • Work at the Linux command line
  • Perform easy maintenance tasks: help out users, add users to a larger system, backup & restore, shutdown & reboot
  • Install and configure a workstation (including X) and connect it to a LAN, or a stand-alone PC via modem to the Internet.

Course Organizational Logistics:

  • A maximum of 16 people can attend this course with 1 instructor
  • Classroom with U-shaped seating arrangement
  • 2 break out rooms where available
  • Whiteboard, flipchart, projector

Prerequisites:

  • Two years of experience in the computer industry.
  • Extensive experience with at least one other operating system & working knowledge of Unix style editor

LPIC-1 Certification is achieved after completing the below two courses

  • LPI 101 – Training 4 days /8hr daily + Exam (1.5 hours)
